Pielinen Museum

Pielisen museum, the second largest open-air museum in Finland is located in Lieksa district within the Biosphere Reserve. The museum depicts the life of the people who lived within the region of Lake Pielinen and Russian Karelia in past centuries. The museum operates under the local Karelian wood construction thereby preserving its international significance. This is evident from the farm houses in the museum area with outbuildings from three centuries. Read more
